From the Desk of President

The Guwahati Commerce College (1978 Batch) Alumni Association (GCCAA) came into being in January. 2017. We have located 235 of our Batchmates spread all over India and held our First Alumni Meet on 10.12.2017 at Guwahati. The Alumni Members have rich experience in Civil Service, Banking & Finance, Trade & Commerce and Professions (CA, CS, CMA, Legal, Taxation, GST).

We have, on 20th April, 2018 registered a Society under Societies Registration Act, 1860 in the same name, to serve the people of Assam in 4 important areas, viz, Environment Protection, Education of Children, Welfare of Senior Citizens and Skill Development & Employment Generation. Our activities commenced on the World Environment Day (i.e 5th June, 2018).

SECRETARIAL NOTE

Guwahati Commerce College (1978 BATCH) ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (GCCAA) has been formed with a noble objective to render certain services to our society, which in the present fast paced world seems to conspicuous by its absence. We have taken up certain areas whereby we shall endeavour to protect our Environment, enhance skill of our posterity, inculcate a feeling of respect for the older generation and providing educational support to the needy children.

Through this medium, I extend heartfelt gratitude for embracing us as a team and giving us your support for us to embark in our path of social upliftment. Our agenda has always been to strive for a better society and help it flourish in an all round holistic way. Many issues have cropped up recently in our society which need utmost attention like Polythene hazard and its impact on environment, the unemployment prevailing among the newly educated youths, improper skill development, mismanaged traffic conditions in the city, water logging in areas, floods etc.
